How to make your eyes brighter
-
Bright eyes are always an excellent indication of an individual's health and lifestyle.

If you stay up late every night, eat an unhealthy diet lacking in antioxidants, or use chemically-laden products, then your eye area is sure to look anything but bright.

You may think that you can treat your eye area the same way you treat the rest of your skin, but because the area around the eyes has such few oil glands it needs a little extra love.

We have put together a few tips on how to make your eyes brighter from the inside out so that you look happy, confident and youthful!

Hydrate From The Inside Out

This is something we all know we should do, but yet many of us do not drink enough water. The best way to keep the skin plump and hydrated is to hydrate it from the inside out.

Aim for at least 2 liters of water a day. You may need to run to the washroom more than usual, but your eyes will reward you with a healthy shine!

Give Your Eyes A Much Needed Break From Technology

When our eyes are overworked and tired, they may become bloodshot and sore. This is no surprise as most of us all glued to a screen everyday, whether it be from our smartphones to our computer screens at work.

Just like your body may sometimes need a rest, so do your eyes. Take a break from the technology at least twice a day and do some simple eye exercises to keep your eyes strong and healthy.

By giving your eyes a break every now and then, you are less likely to have red eyes that have people telling you how tired you look.

Remove Toxins From Your Diet

Whatever we choose to fill our bodies with will be reflected in our outer appearance.

Fill your body with unhealthy, processed foods and your eyes are sure to look puffy and dull thanks to all the chemicals and sodium in these foods.

Instead, choose colorful antioxidant rich foods such as leafy greens, fresh fruits and vegetables, whole-grains and fish to fight free radicals in your body.

A diet rich in antioxidants such as lutein (found in dark leafy greens) will keep your eye area looking bright and youthful, and you will also feel a whole lot better with loads of energy!

Get Some Shut Eye

This is another one we all know, but most of us do not get enough sleep. Sleep is essential for bright eyes, but we know 8 or 9 hours may be a little unrealistic for everyone.

Just 6.5 to 7 hours is all you need, to not only help your body function well, but also to keep the puffy, red eyes at bay.

Go Natural With Your Skincare and Makeup

Don't panic, we aren't going to tell you to ditch your mascara!

However, many people with sensitive eyes may not even realize that their cosmetics or skin care products are contributing to their red, sore eyes.

If your eyes are always red and itchy, then try switching to natural products and see if it makes a difference for you.

Try our Anita Grant Organic Babassu Oil to remove your makeup. All natural ingredients such as jojoba oil, green tea, and babassu oil makes this an ideal product for even the most sensitive eyes.
